We had a very successful weekend in Emmett for the Double Header (2 different clubs put on hunt tests in one weekend). After failing 3 tests in a row, Lucy has now passed 3 tests in a row! I think she was a bit of a slow learner, but the confusion of the test environment has subsided and Lucy does amazing now every time! She's so good at it. On one of her water runs this weekend, a really hard judge said, "that dog made a lot of a smart decisions right there." She takes such straight lines (goes right to the bird without winding around on the way to it). So, this weekend she earned her 2nd and 3rd ribbons and now only has one more pass left to get her title! The only problem is that its about the end of the season and we hadn't planned on going to any more tests, so now we get to decide whether to try and get her in one more and gamble either wasting time and money or getting her titled???
Lucy at work.
In other news: Despite that fact that we put up a make-shift fence, so the dogs wouldn't get in the garden, they still have a few times, but our garden is growing! Yeah, I'm pretty excited, last year we hardly got any peas and this year, it appears that there might be enough to make it worth while and we LOVE garden fresh peas! Plus I think most everything is actually sprouting!

yea for lucy!! and yea for peas! peas are yummy! I need to do a garden-- but yeah not till next year!! I get confused if i have read your blogor not because they are about dog competitions! your dogs are so smart!! i like them!!
What else do you grow in your garden? And yeah for Lucy! I was wondering, how many other dogs are usually there at these tests?
We grow the peas and pumpkins, carrots, corn, and our tomatos and cucumbers are dying, but were still trying and this year I decided to try Strawberries! But the dogs are REALLY good at destroying it all, including the fence!
There are anywhere from 20-30, give or take a few dogs, entered in each level of competition and there are 3 levels every weekend, so there's like 50-80 dogs at the test each weekenc that there is one.
Hurray for the garden and for Lucy! That picture of the view is ideal! Very pretty!
Sure wish you would have stopped by for a visit when you came up to Emmett. We would love to see you.
